WHAT IS Premeré?

Premeré uses a method of construction known either as Insulating Concrete Formwork (ICF) or Permanent Insulating Formwork (PIF). The principle behind Premeré Insulating Concrete Form (ICF) construction is very simple. It's a combination of rigid PVC, polystyrene foam, and polycarbonate components. Together these components create a cavity in which rebar and concrete are placed. ­ Highly insulated concrete walls are formed using lightweight polystyrene expanded or extruded foam. This polystyrene foam is combined with Premere's patented corners, rails and cross-ties to create a concrete form of foam insulation. The Premeré forms with rebar located at key points within the cavity and the forms adequately braced; wet concrete is poured into the cavity. Once the concrete sets, the polystyrene foam form remains in place to provide insulation within the finished wall. This combination of concrete and foam insulation creates a structure that has increased energy efficiency, strength and overall durability. Concrete is the world's most important building material ­ it is used in skyscrapers, dams, bridges, and airport runways. The ancient Romans built some of their most spectacular buildings using an early form of concrete, that are still standing nearly 2000 years later.

History

Premeré Forms began manufacturing insulating concrete forms in 1994, pioneering and leading an industry that now has a complete line of products and builds thousands of homes each year. Our nationwide network of trained distributors and builders are recognized as the most professional group of industry representatives in the business. All of our distributors are committed to providing the best customer service and support anywhere. Today our forms are manufactured using new high-speed presses and molds in state-of-the-art factories. We are recognized for the highest standards of quality control and our exceptional training and technical support methods. Premeré Forms continues today, as it did over 20 years ago, to be a pioneer. We are always striving to develop new and more advanced techniques and materials to deliver only the best products and services to our customers.

Gary Grant P.E.
Project/Sales Engineer

I am excited to be here at ICF Forms, LLC as a Project/Sales Engineer. Prior to Project/Sales Engineer, I spent over 25 years in the bearing industry as Engineering Manager and Project Engineer at The Torrington Co. I plan to share my experiences and training in the field to teach and encourage customers to use the new technology by Premere Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF), the Building of the Future for both residential and commercial buildings.

In the fall 2002, I attended Premere University, a hands-on training course offer by Premere Forms, Inc. With the training presented by the Premere Forms staff, I feel very confident as a Project/Sales Engineer. I have built several Premere Forms buildings; therefore, I have hands-on field experiences to share with our customers. I am looking forward to building a future with all our clients. .

I have worked with my partner Douglas Carrier in his private engineering practice for over four years as a Mechanical Engineer. This teaming has allowed us to tackle most any problem.

I was raised in Clawson, Michigan. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in 1975 in Mechanical Engineering, from Michigan Technological University. I served in the USNR and was honorably discharged in 1978. Following graduation, I moved to Torrington, Connecticut to work for The Torrington Company as a product design engineer. I earned my Masters of Science degree in 1980 in Mechanical Engineering from the RPI. Since 1984, I have qualified as Professional Engineer (CT).

I started ICF Forms LLC about 5 years ago. Since it's inception, I have been fortunate to have what I call the 'dream team' to work at my side. Pat, Gary and Bill have given so much to this organization, I feel we are ready to engage the steadily increasing demand for better and more 'green' requirements demanded by the building community.

I attended Dewitt Page College where I achieved an 3.6 average. I went Back to school nights and full time to acquire an engineering degree.

My entire career basically consists of three engineering firms which I became head of the electrical engineering department of two. I have enjoyed a successful engineering practice of my own, for a period of about 25 years. I am now concentrating all efforts on this business which I feel will be a most rewarding endeavor.

Together with Gary, I have physically constructed many successful projects with Premere Forms ICF, convincing me that our system has much more advantages both residential and commercial than any other product out there.
