A - SET
UP PROCEDURES
SAFETY
FIRST
ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GLASSES, HARD HAT, GLOVES AND WATERPROOF
BOOTS. CONTACT WITH WET (UNHARDENED) CONCRETE CAN CAUSE SKIN
IRRITATION, SEVERE CHEMICAL BURNS, OR SEVERE EYE DAMAGE.
Frequent exposure may be associated with irritation and/or
allergic contact dermatitis. Wear waterproof gloves, long-sleeved
shirts, full-length trousers, and proper eye protection when
working with concrete. If you have to stand in wet concrete,
use adequate height waterproof boots. Wash wet concrete from
your skin immediately. Flush eyes with clean water immediately
after contact. Indirect contact through clothing can be as
serious as direct contact, so promptly rinse out wet concrete
from clothing. Seek immediate medical attention if you have
persistent or severe discomfort. USE
PROPER
BRACING
All walls require bracing to insure they remain straight,
in place and do not tip. Take caution during the concrete
pour and the time after the pour until the concrete sets,
to keep walls straight and in place. The potential for a form
fracture always exists in any system therefore always maintain
an escape route.
FOLLOW
BUILDING CODES
Before beginning any construction check and follow local engineering
and building codes on the specifications of poured concrete
construction and Insulating Concrete Forms. The instructions
and specifications covered in this manual are based on typical
construction settings furthermore are not intended to replace
local build and engineering codes.
